Parent Representative

Karyn lives with her family which includes her husband Douglas, daughter Courtney, son Christopher and dog Max in Blue Springs. Christopher is one of our original athletes that regularly participates in Sports, Swim, and Bowling.

Karyn is currently a stay at home mom who has been involved with EFECT (Encouraging Families with Exceptional Children Together) for years and enjoys meeting new parents of special needs kids at the various community activites she attends with her son. She is also currently involved in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and making the Kansas City community a better place for all children and adults with special needs. She graduated from the Partners in Policymaking Program in 2004. This program is supported by the Missouri Planning Council for Developmental Disabilities which taught Karyn a lot about advocating for the rights that our children deserve.
